YOUR VICTORY WAS CLEAN AND CLEAR – EZE NWABEKE TELLS GOV. ALEX OTTI

The Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulersl,His Royal Majesty, Eze Joseph Ndubuisi Nwabeke has described the victory of Dr. Alex Otti at the polls as Clean and Clear, expressing joy that his reign would bring the much desired development in Abia state.

Eze Nwabeke made the submission when Governor Otti hosted Executive Members of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers from the 17 LGAs of the state at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Library Avenue Umuahia.

Eze Nwabeke described it as a mark of respect and honour the decision of the Governor to host and interact with Ndi Eze, and assured of their determination to partner with the Governor for the success of his government.

The Royal Father restated their conviction that Governor Otti would be a very successful Governor going by his record of accomplishment before becoming the Governor of the state, and appealed to the Governor to remember the Royal Fathers in the course of his developmental strides, describing the condition of Royal Fathers in Abia at the moment as appalling.

In his speech, Governor Alex Otti restated his readiness to partner with Abia Royal Fathers in the governance of the state, especially in the area of fighting insecurity, describing Traditional Rulers as critical stakeholders in the rebuilding agenda of his government.

The Governor explained that though there are some Traditional Rulers whose actions and activities have fallen short of what is expected of them, yet there are many Traditional Rulers who have distinguished themselves and whom his government would partner with to ensure that development is driven to the doorsteps of Abia people.

He assured that the traditional institution would play a key role in his fight against insecurity, especially at the rural areas, and enjoined them to go home and pass his message across to their coleagues and those under their influence, warning that his government has zero tolerance for insecurity and criminality at any level, and thus would treat those who harbour criminals or refuse to expose criminality in their domains as accomplices.

According to the Governor “Our administration shall be very tough with criminals and those who support them in whatever way and for whatever reason. I am aware that our political choices may have differed in times past but the season of politics is long gone.
“The focus now is on governance and we shall treat as an adversary, anyone who constitutes himself into a stumbling block in our determined efforts to recover from the losses and missed opportunities of the past. We must all guard against being used by dishonest political actors and persons with entrenched interests to sabotage government’s programmes or agenda in any part of the state,” he concluded.

Present at the meeting were, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Keneth Kalu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba PhD, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chiectaincy Affairs as well as Commissioner Designate Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants and a host of other government functionaries.
